My Princess, how are you holding up? Yesterday was a pretty eventful day, to say at least. I hope everyone of your temple made it out okay.
Anyway, with all that, you got probably a shitton of stuff to keep track of right now.[ No freaking idea how morale are holding there. The operation jpop was at least something that he supposes, her shinki enjoyed. But he's still wondering the hell deal was with that woman and Shun ] What I want to say- if you wanna chat, I'm keeping this device running.
PS: I hope you get a chance to sing again. [ Maybe different type of song, but, well, you know ]
But we are all relatively unscathed. While I may disagree with how overtly aggressive that assault ended up being in the end, the sheer number of allies meant we were never hurting for help when we needed it. We are mostly exhausted, if anything.
[And maybe housing a homeless shinki but we're waiting on mod confirmation on that. Good thing Zelda hardly ever offers up information unprompted even to people she likes.]
What of your own? I did not see you after the battle with the old woman and the goddess.
You should definitely sing more, but that's just my selfish wish. Wish, surely shared by others, but if you prefer not to, we will understand.[ So Totally No Pressure ]
I understand the exhaustion, we can talk some other time.
[ Oh no, there is a counter question- ]
I left as soon as I could, Archer got- hurt during the fight. I figured that with so many capable people at the scene, I could leave early to tend to his wounds.
[ This is telling this story in a very roundabout manner, but he doesn't want to cause her additional worry. She has her whole shinki-family to deal with. ]
You would say the same thing even if I screeched like a dying vulture.
[You're biased, Caster!! And she's observant, unfortunately for him.]
I thought he was in his vessel form for the majority of that? [She never saw him running around in that chaos, at least, and that bright red is hard to miss.] Is he all right?
I think you should have enough trust in me, that I would absolutely make fun of unfortunate vulture noises.
[ He would. ]
But alas, unfortunately, the answer to your question is no. I have no fucking idea what happened-[ Language. Guess that's a sign on its own that he's no longer taking care of it. ] -but I'm doing my best to figure out how to help him.
It sounds pretty cryptic, so I'll just add: he's not dying, he's not even badly wounded. It's just that his body decided to grow blades instead of skin.
[What the fuck, Zelda just barely stops herself from whispering at her phone. But then, not two seconds later, before she can really think about what she's typing--]
[The next response comes frustratingly slowly compared to the immediacy of the one before it, but that's because Zelda has no idea how to explain something like this, and she deletes several messages worth of drafts before she sends something she feels might make a modicum of sense.]
That first time I used my power - when I saw you training with Lady Scathach - yours was not the only dream I stumbled into. I have not mentioned this before since I felt it would be a terrible breach of privacy, but, obviously, the situation has changed.
I went into Archer's mind as well that night. I did not have any sort of context at the time, but looking back, it was... different from other dreams I have seen. It is difficult to explain, but where the majority of dreams are transient and malleable, receptive to change from both myself and the owner of the dream themselves, Archer's was... stagnant. It felt almost like it is something that would exist even when he is awake, this ever-present world within his mind.
It is a desert world, an endless field of blades extending in all directions.
I cannot say with any kind of certainty what any of that means, but between that, his ability to seemingly pull weapons out of the ether, and what is happening to him now, I cannot shake the feeling that it is all connected. That perhaps influencing one part will in turn change the others.

It is your decision. I will not do anything if you believe the risk is too great.
I know what you're talking about. I saw this place too, in his dream. [ His quest of waking up his princess took him through a detour of several other sleepers. Certainly, he learned about his shinki way more than he should on that day ]
I don't know exactly what it is, but I have my suspicions. [ Counter Guardians and all that jazz ] As you know, he's a Servant like me and we... we don't dream. Not like people do. We only relieve our memories, good and bad, when we choose to sleep. A reminder where we come from.
[ Dreams are only for the living ]
I agree that his powers and that place might be related. Entering that place might give the answers.
[ If all else fails he will have to experiment with Runes, which on its own is kind of dangerous. Experiments with spells that affect objects are one thing. Who cares if a bunch of chairs explodes. People on the other hand...
It's still not easy to just accept help. Especially when it could put Zelda in danger. But he would never accept "don't do the thing it's dangerous" so he recognizes it would be hypocritical to go the same. Insulting even. ]
I have no words to describe my gratefulness, Zelda. I'm not good with asking for help. [ Honesty is the way to go, hell yeah ] Could I be of any assistance for you? His safety is my duty.
I cannot guarantee doing this will save him. I cannot guarantee doing this will even help him, but the very instant it seems to you that his condition is growing worse instead of better, you need to be there to wake him up. Do not hesitate for even a moment.
[There are so many ways this could go wrong. She's counting on him to make sure a few of them don't happen.]

Just for the sake clarity though. Do you have any idea what would happen if I wake him up while you're still in his head?
[ Please, say that you will just get booted out of the dream and wake up too. ]

[Should. The nature of that desert world means there are a lot of unknowns involved in this.]

I'll be a guardian for both of you, Zelda.
Should anything go wrong for either of you, I will drag you back by force.
[ I cannot lose either of you ]
